Choosing the Right Company for Your Training

If you want to get into the field of designing, then it is a good idea to have some training before you go for a job interview. If you are lucky, then you might get the job before you even know how to work the software.

However, some design employers will want you to have some experience in the design field before they give you a change. As long as you have worked in design of have an education in design, they will give you a chance and they will provide the training for you.

If you want to go the extra step before you have the job, then you should have the training yourself and you will stand out from all the other candidates. Furthermore, people will be more likely to hire you because they won't have the initial expense of paying to train you.

You might think that this is a waste of money when the employers out there will provide training for you, but you need to make yourself stand out over the person who is getting interviewed after you. Anything is worth it if it means that you will get a job and a steady income.

Therefore, read ahead to find some tips on how to find the right company to train you.

1. Software - The first thing you need to do is find out what software is widely used in the industry. You need to know this because you don't want to spend your money on some training if you have the wrong software. Then you will have wasted your money and you will be back where you started. So, do some research on the Internet and search for some companies that you would like to work for. Then look on their website and see if they have publicized what software they use. If they have, then all you need to do then is find some training programs that focus on that software.

2. Theory Vs Practical Work - When you find a training program, you need to look at the syllabus. There needs to be a mixture of theory and practical work with the software. There needs to be a fine balance between the two. It is no good if you find a course that is all theory because when you come to finally use the software you might choke. Nothing is better than the experience of using the software. If you go on a training course, which focuses on the practical implementation of the software, then it will look better on your CV, and the prospective employer will feel better about your capabilities as a designer.

3. Software Companies - Your best bet would be to ask the software company if they know any good trainers. If you have done what is suggested in step 1, then you will know the manufacturer of the software.

You could phone them up, or go on their website and see if they offer any courses. If the information is not available on the site, then you should not assume that they don't run training courses. They might have a separate site for their training courses. You could try and find a customer service email and send an email. They should be more than happy to send you some information about training courses. If they don't reply, then you should look elsewhere and look for other suppliers of the software. The manufacturer should have training courses though and if they do, you won't get a better training course elsewhere. This is because no one will know the way around their software better than them.
