Dunked By Australia

When I was younger, I was dunked by Australia. Can you imagine eating Mahi Mahi or Lobster or even squid as you sit in the warm sun by the harbor? It was just picked from the ocean depths and is delicious. All this while hearing and seeing the most colorful birds, ducks, and geese, then you can dunked by Australia, too. How about experiencing the sounds at the awesome Sydney Opera House?

I went in the cold winter and experienced wonderful warmth, but, also, snow on the spellbinding Snowy Mountains. I visited their capital city and was accepted as their "sheila" everywhere. I saw and heard beautiful birds flying in flocks. Instead of a blackbird, I saw macaws and parakeets flying in the sky. I ate the most delicious lamb and pumpkin baked right in its shell. I even tried kangaroo.

Speaking of kangaroo, while enjoying roasted pig from a fire pit and Billy bread, baked in the ground, I had a frightening experience of a mob of kangaroo bouncing past my friends and me. These were the giant red kangaroo. The kangaroos are at least twice the size of me.

I continued my adventure and had the blessing of seeing koala in their natural habitat. They were clinging to eucalyptus trees and enjoying their life. They were as fascinating as the tiny fairy penguins that I saw gathering in the ocean. Each large colony of these tiny creatures gathered together in the ocean and came to shore to venture to their small homes up from the sandy beach. Can you imagine the joy of these tiny creatures paddling up the beach and in between your legs?

The next adventure required a flight into a tiny space in a rain forest. What an adventure? I loved it! We ventured on to arrive at Dunk Island. A beautiful island with giant flowers and trees. It enabled me to snorkel around the Great Barrier Reef. The fish and the starfish were the most colorful fish I could ever imagine. I even saw squid! I had taken a catamaran to a tiny sandy island that rapidly disappeared as the tide changed.

Life on the island was an adventure, because of the size and sounds of the insects and butterflies. The island is famous for the beautiful blue butterflies. They were absolutely amazing! I saw two giant manta rays swimming in the ocean from a glass bottomed airplane. To have the opportunity to see the Great Barrier Reef from the air and the jungle and the seemingly small islands from the air is a sight hard to ever imagine. To imagine the sounds and the creatures making them an incredible to experience! You would be dunked as I was!
